Its ripstop pattern also creates a technical appearance that works naturally with outdoor jackets, packable garments and insulated equipment. Ripstop fabric uses reinforced yarns arranged in a grid. If the surface is accidentally punctured or damaged, this grid is designed to help limit the spread of a small tear.
